We visit your home, business or school and together we choose the best location for your Hive Hotel.
This is when you ask all of your questions.
We clear and prepare the area surrounding where your Hive Hotel will be located. It will be leveled, if necessary, and a barrier of plastic sheeting will be laid down with cedar mulch on top to landscape the area. If necessary, an electric fence will be installed to deter rodents and bears.
We bring the Hive hotel, two hives of bees and all the equipment necessary to set up your apiary. You are free, and encouraged, to assist or observe, whichever you are most comfortable with.
We check on the bees at least once a month, twice a month during the active seasons. We encourage you to assist us and learn about your new bees and the art of beekeeping. Every hive will have a chart of the progress it’s making and you will have access to everything happening in your hive. You are in control of how much you want to be involved in the beekeeping aspect of your apiary.
Throughout the season we will be harvesting honey for you, from your hives! It is processed separately from our apiary, so your honey is from your backyard. It doesn’t get more local than that. Honey flow can vary every year and different locations produce different amounts. Because of this you are guaranteed at least 12 pounds of honey per season and a maximum of 60 pounds. That's 1 to 5 dozen 1lb. jars of honey, guaranteed!
The Hive Hotel is a beautiful addition to any backyard or area that you see fit for them.
You can paint and personalize your hotel before the bees arrive to make it extra special for them and you.
Backyard Beekeeping
It doesn't get more local than your own backyard.
We guarantee that the honey you receive will be from your bees and your hive.
Helping the Environment
Honeybees, and all pollinators, are an essential part of our ecosystem. I believe that we are working tirelessly to help keep them alive and thriving. Join us, and help the honeybees and other insects as they pollinate trees, flowers and gardens throughout your community.
Helping your neighbors
Don't forget that the honeybees don't just pollinate your garden, they travel up to a 9 mile radius to pollinate flowers, trees, and gardens throughout your neighborhood!
The Hive Hotel
The Hive Hotel is made of cedar planks, so it is weather resistant and beautiful. The hotel can be stained or painted and it is a wonderful addition to any landscape. I also never get tired of watching the bees flying in and out of the hive.
$600 Set-up fee

You can participate and be as involved as you want, or simply enjoy the benefits of having a Hive Hotel on your property. It's all up to you. You can work with me inside the hive, or you can enjoy watching the bees flying in and out of the hive and stay informed about them through the monthly progress reports.
